My passion for storytelling has led me to explore the power of performance through photography and moving images. I am drawn to the physical and psychological impact that a performance can have on an audience, whether it be within a single moment or the span of an hour.
I see the camera as an extension of a performance, allowing me to control the way that something is perceived. Drawing inspiration from theatre and cinema, I create narratives––both fictional and documentary––through the use of makeup, clothing, body language, and facial expressions. My work explores my relationship with the camera, as both the creator and subject of the image.
I am constantly inspired by the way in which an image can transport the viewer to a different time, place, or emotional state. Through my work, I strive to create immersive and thought-provoking experiences that challenge the viewer to question their own perceptions and emotions.
